Best Ramen in Jersey City

When it’s cold outside in Jersey City, sometimes there’s nothing better than a steamy bowl of ramen to warm you up. With that delicious, salty broth and chewy wheat noodles, ramen is a heartwarming dish that’s like a hug in a bowl.

Jersey City has a handful of places where you can slurp on some noodles; check out this list of restaurants offering the best ramen in Jersey City.

Ani Ramen

Ani Ramen is a boutique ramen house with several locations throughout New York and New Jersey. In Jersey City there are two locations – a sit-down restaurant on Newark Ave and a casual to-go spot at District Kitchen down by the waterfront.

The No.3 Chef’s Special is our favorite, made with a classic chicken broth and a shoyu tare base enriched with chili paste, chives, garlic, ginger, onion, lemongrass, and shallot. On the menu you’ll also find a variety of bites that are perfect for sharing, including bao buns, edamame, kurobuta sausage and miso sake wings.

The menu features 15 kinds of ramen, plus appetizers such as shumai dumplings, peperoncino edamame, fried okonomiyaki, karaage buns and shrimp tempura.

Try the Muteki Ramen special, which is topped with pork and chicken chasu, bean sprouts, kikurage mushrooms, bamboo, spinach, butter corn, scallion, egg, fish cake and nori.

Located in the food court of 99 Ranch Asian supermarket, Ramen Green is a casual spot offering dine-in and takeout. It’s not the place to go if you’re looking for a fancy dinner, but if you’re feeling hungry you’ll love the big portions and tasty food.

Costing around $10-$12 for a bowl, it’s one of the most affordable ramen options in Jersey City. Visit the store to pick up some groceries, then stop for a bowl of ramen to line your stomach. You’ll find around 10 different kinds of ramen on the menu, plus rice bowls, fried chicken, pan fried gyoza and other appetizers.

Established in 2016 and located on Newark Ave, Miso Ramen uses two types of broth; thick and clear. Both of the broths are slow-boiled for over 20 hours to give them plenty of flavor and the noodles are freshly produced on-site using a machine imported directly from Japan.

The restaurant offers a variety of meat toppings including  ox-tail beef, chasu pork and beef short ribs. The menu also features brothless ramen bowls and several vegetarian and vegan options.
